Water pump as volume washer

Wondering if a water pump would work as a volume washer, for washing my cattle handling pens and yards down. I've got a old molex tanker, I'm planning to bolt it on. Asked local spot that sells them, and I couldn't make him understand I didn't want a pressure washer 🤦🏻‍♂️ could put a electric volume washer on, but petrol would give me a bit more flexibility

Have done the same thing. Use a honda wb20x pump i got of e bay for ÂŁ100. Has enough flow but not really enough pessure to do the job. Using a 2 inch suction hose and inch delivery hose which i think is causing a bit of pressure drop.

That's what I'm thinking, maybe can't be done with a water pump [emoji848]
The honda WH20 is a higher pressure version of the one i got. Is 5bar instead of the WB20s' 3bar. That with an inch and 1/4 hose instead of inch i would think would work a lot better.

Of course you can do what you want with a petrol water pump. I agree, you want to aim for a higher pressure, 64PSI max for that honda is close enough, but I wouldn't go lower. Remember, the load on the pump goes down as the volume goes down, that is the pressure goes up at a set RPM, so you won't overload a pump by putting a smaller hose and nozzle on it. You don't want to lose too much pressure to the hose, so the hose has to be sized to the output you want at the nozzle, not the pump.

Higher pressure will give you more work for your limited water volume, more volume will clean faster though. balance those right and you'll be happy with it.
