Water troughs for sucklers

After the recent hot weather my water trough capacities have been at their limits keeping the suckler cows and calves watered. With this in mind I plan to update the troughs for next grazing season as we make a transition to an even smaller paddock grazed system with more cows.

My question is what troughs to go for? They need to be suitable for both cows and small calves to drink out of and also hold enough water to keep 140 cows and their calves hydrated on the hottest of days.

Ideally I'd like something to supply 2 paddocks split with electric fence wire within the paddock grazing setup to help make use of the troughs.

Suggestions please!

Bought a 500 gallon concrete Moore trough this year and am very impressed by it, however it would be to high for small calves. The paige concrete troughs are lower but you need to order a fair few to spread the delivery cost. Stow Ag ordered the Moore trough in for me, looking at your location they are not far from you. I wouldn't go back to other troughs after having a concrete one!

Personally don’t think big troughs are necessary for sucklers as they have 24hours to drink not like dairy cows that need to drink on way out from milking etc. I prefer concrete troughs or ones that can’t be moved/broken when empty. Make sure you get a high flow ball valve and then the water will stay cleaner and sheep can also reach. Also it’s worth noting calves can easily get pushed in big ones and drown from being cast in the bottom with legs facing the sky

Using 80 gallon concrete tanks from wynnstay. Been very pleased with them. Running bunches of 30 and 40 cows and calves per lot and been coping fine. Calves can drink. And as mentioned heavy enough when empty they don't move them.
