I've been working in construction for over four years, and I can safely say that it's hard to find good waterproof leather boots.

I have been working in construction for over four years, and I can say with certainty that finding good waterproof leather boots is very difficult. I tried many brands and models (from the most expensive to the cheapest), but almost all of them were of poor quality and tore very quickly. So I decided to ask my friends what companies they use, and one friend recommended one website, Canada's best source for work boots, so I decided to trust and order one pair to test. I can say that I was very satisfied, the boots were great quality, waterproof, and most importantly leather. Therefore, I recommend that you also try to order these boots.

Have I missed the bit where you say what website/brand you are recommending?

Bought a very expensive pair of Gore tex hiking boots many years ago when they first came out. They weren't waterproof. Took them back to the shop who told me they worked in many areas of the world, but not in Britain where they are usually covered in mud which clogs the membrane. Got my money back. Think they have improved them since.
I wear steel Amblers, cheap (Chinese) and cheerful, very comfortable, never had blisters or sweaty feet, but they only last a year or so before your feet start to get wet. They have a years guarantee, so if you time things right you can get them replaced FOC.

Never had any problems with the soles on Strauss boots, in fact I’ve been very pleased with them over the years.
However, the last pair I bought are very stiff and they don’t half make my feet hurt. They rub terribly too, so I don’t wear them at all.
I’ll probably end up chucking them away.

Don't chuck them away. You can tell us how long they lasted in a few years.

I have always worn steel-toe cap boots in most jobs I have had but have never really found any which are comfortable. I can't wait to take them off at the end of the day.
Has anybody got any recommendations of any which are suitable for building site work that is somewhat comfortable? Fully waterproof and made to last are important. The pair I have now is a £60 pair of dickies and although they feel well-built I can't wait to take them off.
I struggle as I'm a size 14 and not every style is available in my size.
Any particular brands to recommend for
Waterproof Work Boots?
Price is not really an issue as I spend most of my day in them so I want the best. Can't really wear trainer types on the sites I'm working on and rigger boots are not allowed.

I am a 14 as well and I stand by my post 7. Warm, comfortable and safety. Worn 5 or 6 days a week I think that an average 12-18 months lifespan is reasonable.
