APS farm supplies do a cracking flexothane style jacket that is padded, and mucho cheap. Will do a year , then replace.
I use my kiawaka for monsoon days, and the tatty Aps jackets for general dampish, normal days !
The original one is in the collie’s kennel !

I usually just wear my vest under it and pretend I spent the big bucks 😆 coz I am very, very tight.
Your stockists certainly seem to love to ream you guys, if it helps you make the decision my "old" coat is now 16 years old and my "new" one is 10. I still have one in its plastic bag unworn - so you can depreciate them over a decade, cheap when you look at it as an investment in comfort
As a matter of interest what do you guys pay for the storm force jacket? Cheapest I’ve found here is £269

Deerhunter is a good shout, do not know the specs of the above jackets - bit worth a punt at those prices.

I have the smock version of this one;

Very high quality - actually feels too plush for working in... but it is excellent and worth every penny

Interesting no votes for Ridgeline. That was going to be second choice. Supplier near Edinburgh got a sale on, classic jacket £139
@Nithsdale Farmer ?

I've just got a Ridgeline monsoon classic Jacket,

Pros- comfortable, seems good wind and water protection, good long back on it for sitting on the bike. Decent wired hood

Cons- leaks quite bad through the chunky zip if you don't do the poppers.
Although it drys quickly, the water drains down to the seams around the cuffs and base, then just sits there like it can't drain out, you sometimes actually end up having to wring the water out.

Good coat though.

Yep, Ridgeline stuff is very good at keeping you warm (too warm when you're moving about a lot) and stopping the wind getting in. And it is comfy

The water holds in the fabric and you get soaked as it runs to the cuffs/hem, them seeps up inside.
Been there with wringing it out before - can take days to dry out!

Ridgeline stuff is 10,000mm water resistant (they don't claim waterproof because it isn't). The Deerhunter I posted is their version of Goretex and has a rating of 20,000mm

I’ve just bought a kaiwaka bib and brace today, it’s dear at 110+ vat but I’m hoping for great things from it, but I shall buy the betacraft coat shortly as it’s about £100 cheaper than the kaiwaka.
Where did you buy them from @Bullring?
My stormforce trousers have given up the ghost having just re-patched them last week.

Local ag supplies, cheapest I could find.
