Betacraft definitely, unequivocally nothing like the quality of kaiwaka

Like you, I bought one because it was cheaper. It didn't last the winter! Lining frayed where it rubbed when closed, hood pull cord wore through making it useless in the wind, studs pulled out, even the apparently good quality zip wore out when less than a year old

Bought a kaiwaka. They're in a different league of comfort, quality, and practicality. Warm, dry, but not restrictive or sweaty, it's a pleasure to work wearing a properly designed coat

I've posted my experiences on here already, and also refuted claims that Betacraft are "as good for a fraction of the price", they are quite simply nothing like as good

I've just bought a betacraft parka and bib&brace after recommendations on here. My main observations so far, the cuffs take some getting used to, being a tight rubbery cuff, but they do keep wet out. I also find it to be quite a heavy coat tbh. It's not the warmest when you first put it on. It does dry out quick, even when screwed up in the back of the pickup. Hood is good and doesn't blow off in the slightest breeze like most hoods do. What is the teeny tiny inside pocket for?? The bib & brace are good, however the straps aren't as good as the kaiwaka as they tend to work loose. Plus they don't have pockets like the kaiwaka. They are also a shinier material than the kaiwaka, which put me off a bit at the start.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with them so far.

Bought a betacraft jacket last autumn. It's the water resistant tan coloured type.

Felt gorgeous and comfortable to wear, good pockets, and warm

It was buggered by the springtime.

Hood and waist drawcords had cut through the fabric. Inner lining was worn through in several places. Pockets were hanging off. Zip had started to split.

I now wear what's left of it in the workshop when grinding and welding because it doesn't matter if it gets burnt.

Bought a totally waterproof Kaiwaka storm force for this winter, and hopefully beyond. All the bits that went wrong with the betacraft seem to have been designed properly in the kaiwaka.... Fingers crossed
