Waterproofs! For me not for the animals!

I'm just waiting for someone to say they go commando underneath.

I revert to Flexothane in the summer, when the leakybits aren't so important. Stormforce are lovely and toasty for moving fences in the winter though.(y)

This is my only concern is they would be too hot as I feel the heat a bit.

I normally run a summer and winter set so one with and without holes. Also have fencing set which is basically a gesture so I'm not plastered in mud when I get home

I have been wearing seal flex trousers and jackets for the last couple of years or so. Almost double the price of flexothane but far superior. The first pair of trousers were still more waterproof after a year than flexothane are after about a fortnight.

Some say Kiwikit is good, think it was @bovine saying they stand up to vet work.
Yea. Not cheap, but the reinforced trousers are great. I scrub them after each call so they get some hammer.

I also wear some of the Dry Tex stuff (from Dairy Spares) particularly in the summer. It is much tougher than Flexothane.

I have a pair of Sealskins bib and brace and that is ok, but not great for pulling on and off, it makes me hot and a pain if you need a pee. Decent quality.

Kaiwaka stuff is great but fairly pricey, definitely justifiable if you can make it last.

I had an Oringi parlour too that was ok, I was hugely impressed with the quality of it and the stitching can lose on one of the cuffs fairly quickly.

No need to look any further than the KAIWAKA range sold by kiwikit. Its absolutely amazing at keeping you dry. Will take serious amount of abuse and you will still dry no matter how hard its pouring down. You cant put a cost on being warm and dry when your working in torential rain, .

The stormforce ones or just standard range?

I swear by my Sunderland of Scotland waterproof trousers - I found them secondhand, well used, muddy and abandoned in an old shed I took over about 5 years ago, washed them in waterproofing wash and they're still going strong. I've worn them daily over winter since then to ride horses, muck out, move sheep, walk dogs, handle the pigs, do fencing, etc and they're still fully waterproof, windproof, warm and comfortable. If and when they eventually die, I'll replace them like for like as they are really excellent. Only tip is, if you want to wear jeans underneath, buy a size up from your usual size otherwise they'll be a bit constricting (the ones I found are a size too big but are perfect over jeans or leggings).

Kaiwaka stormforce without question are the best I've owned.
The guy cotten, elka type will keep you dry but aren't as comfy or warm as the kaiwaka.
Kaiwaka are expensive but worth every penny imo.

Keeping dry is a higher priority than comfort for me!. I think dad has the expensive kiwi kit set and he likes them but quite often puts a cheap set on by 11am until lunch so that the kiwi kit can dry as they are 6month old and can get wet through!

What is the elka/guy Cotten stuff like for ruggedness if caught in gorse or wire? Also to those that have had them did you go full on trawler spec or ag spec as it doesn't look as good online?

Kiwi Kit, Kaiwaka. Bought a set before Xmas Trees last year, all lads thought the price was stupid. But after 3 days of constant rain they were asking for the chaps number. Also have a set of LINE7 leggings that sister fetched back from Newzealand. Try an keep 1 set clean for going to work at other farms etc.

I have the Rosbras Jacket and heavy duty bib and brace from Guy Cotten, made from the Nylpeche material.

100 % waterproof.

The bib and brace are a bit short in the leg as they are designed to be worn over wellies so your trouser bottoms will get wet if wearing work boots. Legs are quite baggy and I can generally get them on without taking work boots off

The material is tough and durable as it has to be reliable when 100s of miles out at sea for days. Has stood up to me fencing in them.

Yes I expect it will tear on barbed wire, but that's what barbed wire is supposed to do. The material can be repaired by glueing a patch over it and a 4inch sqaure of material came with the set.

I do dry stone walling for a living and spend a lot of time on my knees in the sh!t and knelt on stone. Very hard wearing material( nyplesh?). Heavy duty Leggings are double lined and there is a pocket internally for a knee pad, I don't think there is any difference in the marine or ag spec apart from the colours. The rosbras jacket is the one I have, in fact I have two full sets.

Got some bib and brace padded waterproof breathable overalls off a guy standing at Gt Eccleston show

They were 30 quid ..and the name on the braces is Belino

Use em for draining work .driving digger with window open. kneeling down in the sh1t jetting drains ect

Bruce's bonus is they are welder proof which is unusual for this type of gear
