Any of you folk remember watveare ? Particularly the km22 mower .i dragged ours out to mow a few steep meadows and banks as our jd towed mower is a real pain on them.
Would a watveare be a re badged fahr ? Or is it another copy

A picture of the whole mower would give a better chance of guessing if it's a genuine Deutz-Fahr or a copy that Watveare rebadged, possibly after they stopped being the Deutz-Fahr importer.
Our KM22 was an orange Deutz-Fahr, don't know when they changed to green or when they rebadged them as the KM2.17

Watveare we’re the importers and and backup for Deutz Fahr in the uk. If I remember rightly they also had other brands like Elho grass equipment. The Deutz Fahr business changed quite a lot in the mid 90s . The Deutz element (engines) pulled out of tractors and machinery, I think Same bought the ag side but kept the name dispersing of the grass machinery side also .
Think Watvere carried on badging other spurious brands in their own name. Your mower being one. Might be out of the same factory as Fahr but there was a lot of eastern block shite came into the rebadged market at the same time.
Having had a better look at your photos I would probably say that was actually one of the last Fahrs .

Thanks for that , whatever it is it’s still doing a decent enough job

Well it’s been put away for another year, the sticker says’watveare km22 turbo mower’
Whatever it is , it did a job and will be kept as back up.
Got to offload the jf cf trailed mower , they may be good on flat ground but it’s no use here with dips and bumps

Were Watveare not the importer, back in the day?
They were Deutz Fahr importers but when Fahr ceased haytool production Watveare may have sourced a copy design from eleswhere otherwise why brand it Watveare? Incidentally the name Watveare came from the original founders of Westerm Machinery (latterly WestMac) a Mr Watkins and a Mr Roseveare! Watveare was established when competing imported products couldn’t be handled by one importer, so Watveare at Westbury Wilts was founded having started in Ivybtidge alongside WestMac!

I bet your CMT 245 has a bent drum shaft hence the poor level cutting over rig and furrow land.

They seem to run true in the shed but I’ve been told it’s possible to turn the shaft 180deg .
To be honest it’s a big clumsy machine , not suited to our narrow lanes and steep ground
Ok. Not the best for nadgery fields. When I worked with JF in the 80’s/90’s before the model was dropped we sold hundreds of drum shafts each year. If it’s bent it’s bent. Turning through 90 or 180’won’t help.

It’s ok on our bigger meadow although due to its size it can “ bridge” some dips rather than mow them
Out other mowing fields are steep with banks and 1/4 mile across a moor track.
The cmt mower is physically to big , I should have got another mounted mower really.
