Anyone used them? How do they compare on prices to other outlets/ selling private. Have a 2010 63k Mile defender Im looking to value as have a buyer interested..... they saying £12100 +vat ?‍♂️
I notice on gumtree some landys advertised at mental money, £20-30k they will be mint and higher spec than ours but is anyone buying them at that???

@Andrew1983 These crooks will not give you what they have bid online for the Defender.

You will get more selling it privately, but to get the Land Rover nutter’s to pay big bucks then you will need to ram raid Halfruads and make it look like a real chav chariot!!

The ones that are advertised for silly money have winches, snorkels, lift kits, led light bars and mega chunky tyres all of which are vital for the commute from the scheme to the office.

Waste of time unless your vehicle is pristine. They will send it to auction so on average you will get less than auction price, every tiny imperfection is penalised heavily as is lack of service history.

They simply give you what it will make in Auction according to recent sales, less a haulage fee and profit margin. When you take it the guy is paid to look for any damage etc that you didnt declare on the quote.

They are a bit like hard sell in reverse. Offer you a price on phone/net etc to get you there. Mess you about and knock the price down plus they don't pay you till a few days later. Don't know anyone who hasn't got paid but????

While it was a couple of years ago , I was trying to sell a defender for a friend. It was well tarted up, low mileage and only couple of years old.
i think the market is fixed, certainly had no interest at all despite being priced way below some of the Autotrader models.
I think there are dealers out there who are making out the market is far stronger than it is and catching the odd unwary soul.
Vehicles appearing sold on web sites, then reappearing a few days later for sale again, to persaude the unwary that they are selling at these big prices.
Remember when selling that a real dealer will by law be giving some warranty so that is worth something, but the buy any vehicle outfits are just buying at the bottom off the market And most will end in the auctions, so you may as well short them.

I have used we buy in the past and they were actually very good - did not argue or knock the price at all when we took the car to them and the price was better than the trade-in price we were offered at the time

The 'Webuys' of this world are just looking to make a markup on any vehicle that the owner isn't able to achieve themselves, but knowing BCA and their pricing structure they will be looking at a healthy profit on the vehicle valuation and the buyers commission at auction.

Better to look at Parkers van valuation site for an idea of the market. Making some assumptions to fill in the gaps, this is what it says for a LWB County pickup 2.4, 2010, 63,000 miles, but in reality you might well find a buyer prepared to pay at least couple of grand premium if your Defender is what they're looking for:
