Aren't cull ewes better sold live ?
Well, I tried to send them by apparently these are in too good condition for abp... (apart from the odd skinny). He took 12 ewes that I would have wanted to put a bit more coverage on... just goes to show I know nothing!!!! View attachment 538702 View attachment 538704
I wanted to get them gone before eid and missed the local mart. I've never sold them dead before. Might be a big mistake but we shall see... the rest will go live like normal when I've had another sort out in a few weeks.
The vet will only throw them up in the abattoir if they're lameOnly good thing is there were a few with rubbish feet that may not have been approved of in market.

I think you'll be disappointed selling those ewes dead, I did it a couple of times and never again, live is by far the best way to sell in my experience!

Probably! But it's all a learning curve right...?
Abp's plan is to offer you a good price, cheap selling, free haulage in order to close the live marts down....when they do you'll know what punishment isProbably! But it's all a learning curve right...?

They'd like to do that over here tooFor an example see Ireland. ABP bought the beef trade for 1p/kg
