Wear parts cost/ha

I am working with a company in the wear parts sector and trying to establish the approximate annual spend on soil engaging wear parts per ha. I realise there are many variables like the cultivation method, crop type, soil type, wet year versus dry year etc but wondered if there are any members who have detailed costings of their wear parts per hectare consumption over several years that I can use as a bench mark to extrapolate some statistics. I have seen some fairly detailed costings on crop establishment but they tend to lump machinery costs together or maybe split out fuel from other machinery costs whereas I am interested in the wear parts element only.

All help greatly received.

Thanks.

I think whoever you are working for needs to realise that the future of farming is direct drilling so they won't be selling any wearing parts going forward other than for direct drills.

I've used a set of points on the plough this year if that helps
Can top that, put two pairs of new ones on my match plough this year!
Although a new set of shakerator points but fortunately our soils are not at all abrasive, a set of plough points would last 1500 ac before needing to be turned. You wont be getting rich here!!

When we used to plough, in the days before tungsten, the old boys reckoned a set of points did 10 acres....

In modern times a set of non tungsten st bar points do c15 ha.

Our annual spend with a Spaldings type company is between £800/1000. We usually buy May June and that would include grassland mower blades Tedder tines plough and cultivation parts dust masks and workshop consumables.
Plough shares would be extra but only every 6/8 years.
This is on 700 acres.

Wow😳😳😳 easy soil then I,m jealous 😳😳
Besson plough helps reversible points just under a fiver and have three holes so they can be turned and dropped down we get 300 acres on a five furrow. Lemken points on previous plough more money and lucky to get 150 acres.
Skin points similar just over a fiver and last 300 acres.
We run two ploughs so £200 every year plus throats and wings landslide wear plates as required again all cheaper than lemken and they last two or three years.
Plough wearing parts less than £1/acre till it needs new shares. £1200 5 yrs 1500 acres Another £1 10 litres of fuel/acre.

Is that less than the cost glyphosate now?
