March the 1st has arrived and the age old say reared itself in conversation " In like a lamb out like a lion " meaning the weather for march has started calm but it will go out a bit wilder.

Do you believe in the old sayings .?

What other old sayings do you still mention every year .?

No matter how nice it can be, untill the hawthorn is in flower, it can still turn cold, in ground and air.

Ash before the soak we're in for a soak.!
Oak before the ash we're in for a splash.!

That's which type tree buds up and opens leaves first dictates weather pattern over the coming months. ( I think)

'If the cat sits in the sun on candlemas day, winters half to come'

"If candlemas day (Feb 2nd) be fair and bright , winter will take a second flight."

"If candlemas day be dull and drear , winters over for another year."

This year was a beautifull day and its been cold but no snow
