Well, geological weather I suppose. Anybody have any effects of the earthquake up here yesterday?
I came in from the cows in the afternoon, went to put the wellies in the cabinet and ended up swearing at the the boot cabinet - shelves pancaked, had to take EVERYTHING out and reset the shelves. Those stupid brass loop things that don't hold very well. Thought nothing more of it.
Then my brother came in from the office - "your wall cabinet fell on my head".
Now, I have put up a fair few wall cabinets in my lifetime, but this one looked as if someone had got hold of it and ripped it off the wall. (Fortunately it didn't actually hit him on the head, near miss, he was sat a bit further away in front of the computer.) Couldn't understand it, the heavy duty screw-in wall plugs had come out and pulled bits of wall board with them. Decided it was just one of those inexplicable things that happen.
THEN read the news that evening- FFS earthquake . We had heard a weird "whumphh"-type noise earlier on but just assumed it was someone up on the road with a tractor or trailer doing something.
Better check your chimney pots and so forth!
