Weaving gd

Im trying to reduce our soil damage in these difficult conditions. Has anyone tried putting a 4.8m gd toolbar directly on the tractor 3 point and using a front hopper. I haven't got a fendt so no downward pressure facility.

It'd need to be weighted probably.
But in the wetter conditions maybe not as much as if it was dry.

You’d need a lot of weights on it to keep it in in the dry. Light land you’ll be fine

I thought the angle of the cutting discs on the GD pulled the coulters into the ground meaning you don’t need so much weight?
As above, Alistair runs a 4.8 GD toolbar and Horsch front tank.

yes I run a 4.8m gd on the arms with a Horsch front tank and we haven’t had any issues getting it in but it is on kind wold land. Mine is 30 coulters rather than the std 28 but it weights well over 4t so we’re over 125kg a coulter pressure.

My 3m is up 200 odd kg per Coulter, and that's not enough in really hard going.
