Some folk seem to dislike the Simba LD, anyone know why this is?Yes these are Simba LD bottoms, we made them a couple of years ago as a conversion from the Michel 600 cranked leg. A cutting disc could be mounted in front of the legs off the brackets but there’s not much room in this frame.
Good info!! Which point will give the least surface disturbance & good lift & shatter running around 9 inches? Most comments we had were how wide and aggressive the wings were, some cut them down in size others ran with no wings.
The LD leg (and Michel 600 leg) were both 12mm wide, hence the gap in the brackets is 12mm.
With these current legs you can fit the Horsch drill point (as in photo), the Simba LD point or the Agricast LDX point with more tungsten.
Did you use in front of the GD and how did it go? I’ve got a GD and think this might help!We recently demoed one looked a good machine, ideal to use Infront of a weaving GD drillView attachment 827188View attachment 827190
Talk to terry birch ,we have his 12 mm legs .and use both simba drill point and ld point with 4 inch wing , keeping speed sensible helps too , ferobided the sides and top of tungsten points and get good wear out of themGood info!! We have now brought a Sabre tine drill instead of a GDDid you use in front of the GD and how did it go? I’ve got a GD and think this might help!
Do you have any photos of it in action / what finish it leaves pleaseWe have a 5m Weaving Topsoiler, arrived in early August. Does a great job, running at 7" deep, low disturbance and doesn't bring lumps up which then makes it easier to create a good seedbed.
My only criticism is the points wearing far to quickly, I wouldn't class us as being on particularly stoney ground but it loses bits of tungsten off the points to easily and then they wear like billio to the extent that wings end up deeper than the point! Had this after doing 125 acres with 5 metres!
If you look on the Weaving website that is our Case tractor on the Topsoiler, Edward Weaving came out to see us when we tried it for the first time and bought his drone. My main chap is now famous.Do you have any photos of it in action / what finish it leaves please
Had the stubble been worked previously? The video links to a JD on worked land unfortunately. If you look on the Weaving website that is our Case tractor on the Topsoiler, Edward Weaving came out to see us when we tried it for the first time and bought his drone. My main chap is now famous.
