have a 6m one with 48 coulters in 3 rows, its a 2007 model not one of the newer 4 row.

not used it much. How does it cope with trash? longish rape stalks and wheat stubbles. all been terrano'ed and pressed but seems to be a lot of trash on surface.

Should I reduce it to 36 coulters?
Should I use narrower points?

any other tips?

We’ve a newer 4 row weaving drill, the 4 rows deal with the trash well but the following harrows struggle at times, trash bunches up until the harrows ride up and drop the lumps out. I assume the following Harrow design hasn’t changed, just beware that they could cause more issue than the Coulter’s themselves

Had some fairly trashy fields to do with ours in the past. Found if went slowly it just collected the straw up. Almost gave up on a field as drill man kept slowing down after blocking it. Only thing that worked was going flat out as seems to let material flow as you get a bit more rattling and bounce with the drill.

We have got our 4m weaving out of the barn. I’m new to the farm and not had any use with one. We have gone over most of our fields with a sumo around the 8 inches. Will the weaving do a reasonable job drilling into this? We have had 115mm rain in October and 65 mm in September. So the ground is plenty wet enough. How do people get on setting the tines up depth etc and how about behind the tractor wheels? Using a light 6930jd- no weights on 710 tyres. We have wheel eradicator tines but doesn’t seem to do that much of a good job. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Just started using a Weaving Tine drill for the first time and its doing a passable job
But the pre-em markers slowly drop on all runs . Works fine for tramlining
One double spool operates bout markers and the pre-em marker.
Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Would think you've got an oil leak somewhere. Ours does the same but not that quickly.

Couple of the hydraulic rams are damp. No drips I can see.
Is there a valve or something to adjust? Not really had a good look but thought someone might point me in the right direction as the manual is short on info

Try cracking the pipe off on the pre marker rams. Mine did this it was just some air in the oil pipe
