seems to have a growth like ragwort but not the "normal" one that seems to be everywhere, perhapsits oxford ragwort or one of the other typer that I cant remember at the momentI would still put my money on a ragwort species. Pull it up and see if it has a mass of roots

It could be - I found it in a herbal ley mixture near the field edge (not as posted earlier). I've had contamination in cover crops before - no one minds other CC species really so I doubt the seed plants are as fussy about cleaning out.
Hmm. I'll pull it up & see. If it puts up yellow flowers soon enough I'll know you're right.
Eat it, if it kills you then it's ragwort
