Weed ID please

What is this please? Found in a field margin. It's not phacelia.

I would still put my money on a ragwort species. Pull it up and see if it has a mass of roots
seems to have a growth like ragwort but not the "normal" one that seems to be everywhere, perhapsits oxford ragwort or one of the other typer that I cant remember at the moment

You sure its not Phacelia with some chemical or drought damage?

It could be - I found it in a herbal ley mixture near the field edge (not as posted earlier). I've had contamination in cover crops before - no one minds other CC species really so I doubt the seed plants are as fussy about cleaning out.

Hmm. I'll pull it up & see. If it puts up yellow flowers soon enough I'll know you're right.

Hmm. I'll pull it up & see. If it puts up yellow flowers soon enough I'll know you're right.

Yes if in a stewardship margin, this is most likely, there are quite a few species. Of the Borage family I think. So could be from a green manure mix
