The weekend is looking rather mixed, but temperatures are going to be slowly on the rise. More below.

I'm holding some one day Farming Weather Schools during the winter and spring (running form 10am to 4pm). High pressure south of Ireland on Saturday with a ridge building east through the UK. A weak front to the west introduces moist, generally cloudy air, whilst the northwest flow on Saturday morning affecting eastern coasts may bring some wintry showers here.
Generally plenty of cloud around through Saturday with increasingly low cloud and drizzle affecting western coasts and hills. More eastern parts of the country will have some wintry showers, but elsewhere it should be mostly dry. Visibility will be poor in the west in the ow cloud and drizzle.
Winds NW F5 becoming more WNW F5 in the west as the ridge moves eastwards through Ireland and the UK.

SUNDAY

A set of fronts will be passing eastwards through the UK on Sunday with an increased westerly flow.
There will be cloud and rain associated with the fronts passing through Ireland, Scotland, NW England and west Wales in the morning, this then spreading east in the afternoon. The winds will be increased too. More southeastern areas stay drier but the rain reaching here later.
Brighter weather following to western Scotland and Ireland in the afternoon.
Winds mainly W F5-F6 occ F7 on western coasts and hills, becoming WNW F5-F6 in the far west later.
