SATURDAY

A windy day on Saturday with a moist westerly airflow affecting the whole of the country. Fronts will be passing eastwards although these are thought to only be weak.
There will be plenty of cloud around throughout the day with outbreaks of rain affecting Ireland and northern England as well as west and north Wales. The rain heavy at times on western facing slopes. However, to the east of higher ground the cloud should break through the day with some bright spells developing.
Across southern England cloud may break too with brighter spells coming through here. Brighter skies may develop in eastern Scotland once morning patchy rain clears away, then becoming mainly dry in the west too.
Winds W-WNW (23-28kt) F6 but F7 (27-30kt) on western coasts and hills, W F5-F6 (17-22kt in Scotland.

SUNDAY
------------
A warm front passing east overnight reinforces the mainly cloudy airflow. The moist airmass then continues to affect the UK and Ireland on Sunday. A cold front passes southeast, although there is uncertainty in the timing of it and it may be slower than shown below.
Ahead of the front it will be mostly cloudy. Periods of rain and drizzle on western coasts and hills. More persistent rain associated with the cold front affects Scotland and Ireland as it passes southeast. However, this features weakens and breaks as it heads southwards so that by the time it reaches southern England the rain is likely and showery. Brighter weather follows to the north with heavy showers in northern Scotland.
Winds W-WSW 22-26kt (F6) but 28-33kt (F7) at times in the south.
