WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
===========================
Issued 1500 Thursday 18th July 2013
Saturday:
High pressure to the east of Scotland on Saturday brings a easterly flow through the UK and Ireland.
There may be some low cloud on eastern coasts at first, especially northeast England and East Anglia, and the chance of some spots of drizzle here and there.
More western areas will be dry and sunny with little change through the day. Most places dry in the afternoon, although a few showers could break out over southwest Scotland.
Visibility will be good although moderate or poor at times in low cloud on the east coast.
Winds mainly E 10-12kt (F3-F4) but E F15-17kt (F5) in the far south and 20-23kt (F5-F6) at times in the Channel. mainly SE-E 8-10kt (F2-F3) in Scotland.
Sunday:
Little change in the pressure pattern overall on Sunday. High pressure will be to the northeast of Scotland with lower pressure over northern France. A trough is going to be lying west to east along the coasts of northern France.
Low cloud could again affect eastern England, eastern Scotland and perhaps as far inland as the eastern Midlands. This is going to be burning back to the east coast.
Most places will then be dry and sunny, although there is the chance of an isolated shower forming over southern England, the hills of Wales and southwest Ireland in the afternoon.
Visibility should be good although moderate in any showers and along eastern coasts in low cloud at first.
Winds E 12-15kt (F4) but 16-20kt (F5) in the south, and 256kt (F6) along southern coasts at times.
