WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
===========================
Issued 1000 Thursday 2nd May 2012
Saturday:
A cold front is going to be clearing southeast England on Saturday morning (probably a little quicker than shown on the chart below). This may allow for some cloud and spots of rain in the far southeast at first but these will be clearing away.
The occluded front moving into weather Scotland and northwest Ireland will bring some cloud and outbreaks of rain here, this more so through the afternoon. It will be breezy through Scotland too. Fairer conditions across eastern and southeast Scotland with some sunny spells.
For most other parts of England, Wales and southern Ireland the day will be dry and bright. There will be some good spells of sunshine and broken cloud.
Winds mainly W 6-8kt (F2-F3) in the south, SW 25-30kt (F6-F7) for western Scotland and the far north of Northern Ireland.

Sunday:
A ridge of high pressure over the south on Sunday but a more westerly flow continues to affect more northern areas. The weak trough on the chart could bring some showers to the north and west of Scotland as well as the far north of Northern Ireland.
For most the day is going to be dry and bright with some good spells of sunshine. Watch for the risk of some mist or fog patches early in the morning across central and southern England, and also the risk of some mist and fog patches in the Channel and off southwest England.
Winds mainly SW 6-8kt (F2-F3) in the south with sea breezes forming on coasts, SW 17-20kt (F5-F6) in northern and western Scotland.
