A front lying through northern England, the Midlands, Wales and southwest England on Saturday brings an area of low cloud, rain and drizzle. It will be breezy and feeling col. The rain should gradually ease southwards leading to a drier afternoon in northern England, the north and western Midlands and Wales..

The southeast of England may be dry at first and rather cloudy, but outbreaks of rain will be arriving here by late morning.

Drier for Scotland with the ridge of high pressure bringing mostly dry weather. There will be an isolated shower in the morning, but generally it is dry. Fair in Ireland with some good spells of sunshine as morning cloud retreats east.

Winds NE 20-25kt (F6) in the south, stronger gusts, but NE 12-15kt (F4-F5) in the southeast. Mainly N 10-15kt (F3-F4) in Scotland and Ireland.




SUNDAY

The ridge of high pressure slips south on Sunday to be through southern Ireland and most of England and Wales.

A fair day over much of England, Wales and the far south of Ireland with some reasonable spells of sunshine. Watch for an increasing risk of some low cloud drifting onto the coasts of southern Ireland and west Wales in the afternoon.

Thicker cloud and periods of rain, together with string winds affecting northern and western Scotland, these slipping southwards through the rest of Scotland and the north and west of Ireland in the afternoon.
