WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
===========================
Issued 1300 Friday 6th September 2013
Saturday:
Low pressure is expected to be centred over western Scotland on Saturday. A front surrounds the low, extending through northern Scotland and Northern Ireland, as well as into northern Wales and northwest England.
Cloud or rain affects much of central and western Scotland with visibility being reduced here, together with low cloud. Further rain, low cloud and poor visibility across Northern Ireland and northwest England as well as northern, and possibly western Wales.
A trough passing east over southwest England bringing some heavy showers here. A few showers drifting onto southern coasts of England, but for most central and eastern areas it should be a dry day with reasonable cloud bases and good visibility. Some showers could drift into northeast England later.
Winds will be E-SE 18-27kt (F5-F6) in north and east Scotland, NW 25-33kt (F6-F7) in Ireland and W 25-29kt (F6) in northwest England and Wales, mainly SW 16-22kt (F4-F5) elsewhere.
Sunday:
A generally slack pressure flow through the UK and Ireland on Sunday. A trough over the west of the country brings cloud and some showery outbreaks of rain through Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and western England.
Most of the rain should be light and will tend to fade through the day.
More eastern and southern parts of the country will be dry with sunny spells overall. There is the risk of an odd shower developing in the afternoon, although generally it should stay fair.
Winds variable 7-10kt (F3-F4) in the east, SW 15-20kt (F4-F5) in the west.
