Weigh cells

We have a milk tank on a gantry in our bottling plant. Monitoring the level during processing involves sprinting up & down the stairs.
Wondering about putting it on weigh cells with a display downstairs
Gross weight full will be about 7 tonnes
I was thinking 2 channels each side under the feet. Weigh cells under
What kit do we need & rough cost ? & any recomendations for suppliers

I've found these folks really helpful, and not extortionate either. They are a member on here.
Certainly worth a phone call.

Contact these first and see what they say. It will be easily done with 4 weigh cells. Think of the keenan on 4 weigh cells and mobile with the load moving. Your tank will be stable and filled/emptied gently.

Mount an ultrasonic or laser sensor in the top looking down. Much easier and cheaper than weighcells. If you want to use weighcells you can't have fixed pipe connections as these divert force away from the weighcells.

Also radar https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/level-sensors/2067069, we have found more reliable than ultrasound or laser

I'm almost embarrassed to say it but I have that exact tank as my buffer tank for Arla. I bought it from a yoghurt dairy and it was sitting on weigh cells that I never bothered to collect because I had no use for them. They'll be long gone now though I'm afraid

Thanks for the replies folks. I think allied weighing only have kit up to 5 tonne.
Sight tube. Prob seeing it from downstairs + cleaning it.
Don't think the oil tank kit is accurate enough
Will have a look at the radar option. from @sjt01

Have you spoken to Allied Weighing? I’d be surprised if he could sort something suitable, every bit as well as anyone else could. Weigh cells would surely give you the most accurate measure, without being in contact with the milk.
