Weight blocks

Have a 880 kg steel block on front of fendt 720.
With 5 furrow plough it’s light on the front, with front wheels coming off ground when lifting out of work.
Is 1300 kg enough to solve problem?
Concrete are cheaper, any disadvantages?
Or are steel better?
Thanks

I have the 1800kg steel one on an 820 with 5 furrows and it’s a great match. Plough is auto reset hyd variwidth which adds weight.. Wouldn’t want any less on front really.

Alternatively you get a JD motherweight (JD dealers have a stack of them mostly) and then add weights untill you are satisfied. They are in abundance so usually not that expensive.

1200kg on a 415, just a one-off as borrowed neighbours plough. Was ok but just, so would think 1300kg on a 720 would be fine.

Got a 900kg & 1000kg. The 900kg gives the tractor better traction as it's out further on the front linkage than the heavier one. So maybe if you get one that's further out will help a lot more.

Do people run a smaller weight on their tractor at all times? My new Holland is a totally different ride with the mower up front. Without it the suspension hardly seems to move. I was thinking maybe a 700kg or so and add more air to front tyres to suit.

Buy a cherry smart box it's 1400kg with a removable concrete weight and side tool boxes

One of the best front boxes on the market in my opinion

I don't question it's safety or legality, it's a proper job thing, just looks massive - like having a taty topper on all the time - a bit numb

Yes I agree it's a big lump but we take it off at harvest for corn carting or run it empty at about 400kg (very handy for tools)
