Welder cuts out CCTV

I have cctv in my workshop and every time I use the welder (3ph) the cctv resets and has damaged 1 camera already and I lost another 1 for a while after it restarts. I have used a surge protector extension cable but that doesn’t stop it. Anyone got any ideas to help. Cheers.

Bit of both.....

What I mean by that is that the problem is poor shielding both on the CCTV recorder and also the welder. It takes two to tango.

If it's an IP-based camera and recording system (rather than the traditional coax type) you might be able to locate the recorder in another building and extend the network.

Alternatively you might to able to put a surge suppression type filter on the power supply to the recorder.

Even a power cable with a chunky ferrite bead might help.

Do you think something like this on the cable may help, might be worth a punt.

I would be rather disappointed if my new welder had such bad electromagnetic emissions that it was causing other equipment to get upset.
Another avenue that occurs to me is if the welder starting is causing a temporary voltage sag which is causing the recorder to cut out and start up again.

Welder will only be using 2 phases try running the camera off the phase the welder is not using.

i think welder will be using 2 phases and not the neutral so getting 400v ish volts, may use neutral a bit but not for main power maybe for wire feed and such

If you are running the cable to the camera and the power to the welder in the same trunking then this would be causing the failure. Induction going straight to a camera that is not capable of taking it. Could this be the problem?
