Welger AP Baler

Can anyone help? I'm looking for a replacement Pawl Spring for a Welger AP52 baler. It's from the lift/lower mechanism for the pickup. There are two dogs which engage a toothed cog on the lifting lever, one locks into the teeth to lift the pickup the other locks in to prevent the cog from lowering unless actuated. Both of these dogs are held in place with a pawl spring.
One of these springs has broken and I need a replacement, does anyone know where I can get one. Welger/Agco no longer make a replacement (I've already asked them).
I've put on a couple of photos for reference.

If you are really stuck, a hacksaw blade makes a good spring. Anneal it first, bend/grind to shape, then re-temper.

Alternatively, Google springs and phone around the manufacturers for a similar spring and bodge a replacement as above.

I think it's going to be a bodge job

you can buy piano wire in round form easily enough, in flat form not so readily available but its out there.
i keep some of the rounds here for that just in case moment.
looks like the spring is captive so making one out of round shouldn't be a problem id imagine.
just choosing the right diameter of wire is the biggest challenge, there are formulas but their not simple.
but the wires not dear so a few trials should get the right tension.

good advice in that link re hardening and tempering.
