Welger baler control box issue

Hi had a couple of issues with RP220 baler control box, first is it doesn't always pickup that the knife has cut the net, so screen continues to show net being applied even after bale has been ejected. Second one that had just started is control box seems to turn off then it tries to come back on gives a couple of beeps then off again, this continues until the power plug is pulled. First day I did about 20 bales before it stopped completely, second day I did about 60, third time I didn't get to field before it stopped. Managed to bale in manual but difficult guessing bale density. Sometimes I can plug in to tractor in shed and it seems to stay on continuously, but did notice that the bale command screen stays on a long time now before changing to operational screen, also it seems to default to German, RP2305,2.5sec delay, and twine. Anyone got any clues?

If its the same as a 445 and 435 then it will be the white box mounted on the balers chassis....David king electronics can repair them but it takes time...I have two spare ones here ....don't think your is the same control box having just 're read what you've written...ours is the basic bce control box ,yours sounds like the electronic model so probably no use what I've said.

My RP220 went wrong on box last year, sometimes worked often didn't.
On the side of the machine next auto oiler there is a black box with 2 plugs into it. The trouble is in there. Water /damp gets into it and messes things up.
A new one was going to be £1400 so sent it to David King electronics, they reckoned 50% chance of a fix or he would sell me a recon box. Luckily they managed to fix mine. Recommended.

Yeh thought about that but when I pulled plugs they we're actually pretty clean. Is there more control circuits under the plugs?

Yeah, mine looked perfect but I'm told that inside the box there is a circuit board which is sealed in with resin or similar I think. Over time damp can get in if the resin/silicone hardens and cracks.
I sent both the tractor display and the black box away as the keypad can give bother too.
I just read your first post again and mine did the same, took ages to move off the first screen and went to german twine etc.
The guy at David King was spot on when I called, he knew the farming job, and knew what I was talking about with the baler which made it much easier.
Worth a call, they will help you over the phone with things to try first.

Ok so got box repaired by DK, first day out worked perfectly, but now the fault where the monitor shows net getting put on bale is still continuing after knife has cut it and bale has been ejected. This then prevents bale counter and bale full alarm from working (although the tension bar still operates). Does anyone know here to start? Could it be knife or back door sensors? Baker works fine apart from this reoccurring fault thanks

I'd check the net knife sensor first, if it were me. Can't for the life of me remember how to do it though sorry.

I would suspect the knife sensor. It sounds like you have an e-link box so you can go into a menu to check each of the sensors. See what it says when you wave a bit of steel across it. You might just have to move it a little closer to the anvil.

Same as above, check the knife sensor, and the wiring to it.
In some of the menus in the control box you can see the voltage reading and if it changes etc when it's working.
Tells you which menu does what in the handbook.
