Welger baler net wrap problem

@Bungundarra David That same stainless steel bar broke on my nephews Massey baler whilst baling straw a few weeks ago.

We did lots of swearing trying to get it out from behind the net feeding rollers, we slackened off the bolts which hold the complete netting system in place to give us a few more mm of space to get the broken scraper bar out. We were frightened to cut it for fear of setting the baler on fire! Eventually with just brute strength we managed to get it out.

The baler has baled more than 1200 bales problem free since then without the scraper fitted!! We will have a bash at fitting a new bar during the winter, but not looking forward to that task.

Brilliant, thank you 👌 in the end I cut mine in half with the idea of fabricating a replacement that can be extended / retracted for fitment, maybe concentric sized RHS. I have since baled about 100 bales without issue, and you have put my mind at ease. Not entirely sure we need it at all, we only do about 1k bales of dry straw for mulching our Avocado and Lychee orchards each year maybe I just need to clean the roller annually.

What do you know about that stainless bar? Mine has broken off at one end, and no matter how I try, I simply cannot get it out of that space to repair it. I can't find a name for it or diagram anywhere on the internet. At this point it looks like my only options are to cut it in two to get it out of the way of the net knife, or cut a hole in the end wall to slide it out. Any ideas?
Remove four bolts and lift net unit out is the easiest way to work on it! Depending on bale count turn anvil and replace knife while you are at it.

Hi. I have a problem with my rp235 net. On automatic is was netting but would not cut, just took net kni triggered, then I changed to manual tying and it worked fine for 20 or so bales but the started the same craic, it also started to net and the bale not even have made, I’m not sure we’re to look

Check the power supply, it's surprising how it can mess you about, net not cutting will usually be the net knife, but if all the other bales are ok it's unlikelt to be that, very ocassionally debris will get in the hydraulic line and get stuck in the restrictor preventing the net knife from being reset, if the net is randomly firing electronically it could be a control box issue, not much help to you I know, but all things to look out for, control boxes can be sent off to david king electronics, damage to the wiring is a common fault which can mess you about also.
