Well, one guess who I used to be!

For some reason, I found I could not log on with my usual screen name, Dry Rot, tonight. The forum asked me to log in with the email address I used when I first signed up. That was not a lot of good and wouldn't work as it's changed. So I have had to resubscribe with a new screen name (and email address) -- that I don't particularly like, though it is probably a bit more appropriate at the moment!

So, maybe admin could do something about that logging back in anomaly when the email address has changed. And can I have my old name back, please? All this security is a bit over the top anyway as I can't imagine any one would be stupid enough to steal my identity, let alone my bank balance!

we can sort that out I expect but do need to prove you are indeed the previous owner of the Dry riot account somehow first

Dry Riot? Yes, I think I like that better!:D

I can actually send you, or ChrisF, copies of my driving licence, etc. as I have a scan that I've just sent to someone else. Would that help?

Or you could just reply to the email you have. Since we have no idea who you are in the first place, your driving licence won't confirm much! Your original email address is all we know about you and all you need to confirm.

Well, I can't confirm an email address I no longer have, can I? God! How I hate computers. The man who invented Macs needs to be dragged out and burnt at the stake! I am now having similar problems trying to get my web page and old email address (which you will have) up and running again. This is going round in circles! Perhaps I have already been hacked and I'm not who I think I am!?

You just have to reply to the email and tell me what it was. You don't have to email from it. But you must know it? So just write it down and email it to me. Or DM it to me on here.

As I have said, just answer the email I have sent you and it will be done in minutes.
