I was there, but didn’t see anyone wearing a Tff badge...

I think it would best be described as a ‘buyers market’. Lots went home I think, or sold for next to nothing. Lot’s of poor sheep there in all classes imo, as always, but probably penalised harder than before. Saw a couple of runs of ET bred shearlings going through at around 200gns (or unsold), which is an expensive lesson for anyone. Plenty of good sheep making decent money too though.

Did you hang around long enough to watch the lambs through? I’d be surprised if there were more than 2 or 3 sold from the whole lot! I stayed to pick up a lamb I fancied, who I was surprised to get for 500. The only other lamb I fancied also got knocked down for 500gns, but unsure if sold. Added a few more tidy ewes at sensible money (imo) too, so the hobby flock continues....:D

I was there!! Glad I wasn't the only one thinking the same, very poor choice on the whole, out of the whole shed only faniced one tup......bought him.....but he did cost me!

But yea I think there's to much of the flush this tup this and that it's a tup lamb let's register it!! People ain't critical enough in my opinion!!

Ended up with 4 ewes and a tup was happy to get home in the end!! How many you end up with @neilo

It was a long day, but must have seemed a hell of a lot longer for the auctioneers.:D when things were going well, I did comment to someone that they’d need a bigger box to get all the auctioneers in, but surprising how it thinned out when they had to work for their money.

I agree, plenty of dodgy feet/legs evident, let alone mouth faults, but that’s what happens with all breeds while they are doing well.

I ended up bringing another 3 ewes home, along with a ram lamb. I wasn’t desperate for a ram, and couldn’t get close to justifying the few I was interested in.

It was a very long day, especially on the way home there was a accident outside Newtown so it ment a diversion home!! Yea hats of to the auctioneer's today they really had to graft today! But it's easy to sell a good animal but takes hell of a good auctioneer to sell a bad one!!

Mouths feet legs seen one ewe with a rupture on side.....not being funny where's the people on the inspection panel?

Aaaaah you had a good day then!! Well out of all the tips there the one I bought cost me more than I wanted but after loosing my stock tup Back end of spring I had to go that bit more otherwise I'd have no tup!! But glad I pushed on!! But to be fair to what I studied in the pens there was a good show of ram lambs there! How was trade on them?

There was no trade on the ram lambs, the ring was near deserted by then. The auctioneers still went through the motions though, pulling bids from thin air to run them up to the reserves. As above, i’d Be surprised if more than about 3 were sold. Good reserves on most of the best ones though, quite sensibly.

They would have to make it a two day sale then. Sheep have to arrive, be inspected and have the all important show, in the morning as it’s set up now. A 2 day sale adds a whole heap of cost for everyone.

Could they not give vendors the option of just entering for sale only and start with them first most of the rams aren't going to win and most buyers aren't bothered about rosette's. And then start at 10.

shows before sale are utter nonsense, just get on with the sale , i hate waiting half a day while all the over fed show sheep get paraded around , ok for a premier, but a normal sale get the buyers in the pens , rather than buy on results

Welshpool is the Welsh Premier Sale for beltex.;)

Most of the rams aren't going to win of course, but there a hell of a lot get taken out in the show, so presumably a lot of the vendors want to have a go...

What they should do is the inspection and show the night before, anyone that wants to take part in the show it's there choice then! Otherwise all sheep to be there by 8 following morning, inspection then sale at 10 make more sense!! Especially when you got near a 3hr drive home
