This thread is about buyers not wanting lamb.

Which is simple Common sense even without buisness sense coming into it.....if they cant sell it,what are they going to do with it.?
Yes it is about demand for lamb. But it also looks a bit like an import ban/ trade embargo. Which in turn could be construed as punishment or retaliation for Brexit and denial of access to fisheries. All of which feed into the supply and demand complex surely?

No, I see it as a punishment/ retaliation for Brexit and not giving them all the fishing grounds

Half the countries around the globe have shut borders to uk travellers, quite rightly, whether they are in the EU or not.

The biggest issue is obviously with lorries going to and from the Continent of course, seeing as they are our biggest trading partners. Our customers, and suppliers, over the water will be every bit as concerned as we are.

£87 for 42kg lambs in Mold today......don’t know what the fuss is about as that’s the best price we’ve had for a few weeks.

Neighbour took his best stores to Ruthin last week, they made £94......doesn‘t make sense. :scratchhead: :woot:

Took a load of rubish.... I mean stores to welshpool today, averaged over £50, I'll take that cos one or two were no bigger than rats, and all lambs gone before Christmas. Look forward to the next crop now.:arghh:

We took a trailer load to Welshpool today. We were on two minds what to do after the border closures last night.
As it was a drop and go system there today we decided to put a reserve of £2 a kg on the lambs .
The trade was a lot better than we had anticipated.
Our trailer load averaged 223.02 ppkg for white faced welsh and texel lambs. We had the top ppkg for a bunch of texels in the standards weights and they sold for 245ppkg . Second top ppkg of the day out of 3500 lambs. Well chuffed with that as we were expecting to have to be bringing the lambs back home if the price had collapsed.
Hope the trade holds out now for the coming weeks during a transition period.
