Wet silage dry silage dilemma

Morning. Just after some advice, half of my silage in 1st cut ( rocket fuel cut in May) and the other half was some grazing land we tidied up in July so obviously stalky and dry and not the same quality as 1st cut. My question is, is it best to alternate between the 1st cut and older stuff alternate days, put a bale out of each at the same time (they will probably all push in for the 1st cut and leave the other bale to last) or should I use up 1st cut then go on to dryer stuff.
They go mad for the new stuff but bedding soon gets wet as the silage is making their muck a bit sloppy, they quite happily munch away on dryer stuff aswell but I know the quality won t be there. Cattle range from 4 months to 14months in different sheds.
Shame I can't justify a mixer wagon then I wouldn't have this problem!

Cheers

Shake a bit of each out and mix it.

The rocket fuel will go straight through them without them getting the benefit. Mixing with stemmier dry stuff will slow down the speed through their gut and give them the benefit of it.

I'm mixing 11.8me 18.3% protein bales with hay for my young stock.

Would you like you eat runny curry one day and dry bread the next all the time?
