If the government would stop paying damn furlough, the situation would correct itself pretty damn quick.
Helicopter money or UBI is the future. You will own nothing and be happy. The bit they missed out is that you will also be a slave. Happening in real time.

Because you can't put it down and seek sarcasm at every opportunity. There are thousands of people in the UK who could work for Tim but the government are paying them better to stay at home.
again what this got to do with remainers, yes we taking the pee of a well know brexter, but that as much do to with him being a ass, and if it government paying to much benefits for people to work well that nothing to do with the EU/UK as the UK has always had full control of it benfits

Because you lot brought Brexit into the discussion. If he's a great businessman then maybe he'll be OK. If he's not they maybe he will go bust. Same old .

because it a brexit issue. brexiter supported who was anti FoM, now say he want more people to come work here cause he can't get staff
Well pay more then and maybe I'll go work for him. There are plenty of unemployed in the UK. It's not a Brexit issue. Pay more or go bust. I don't give a toss. Maybe he'll have to put his prices up and compete with the Inns. Just because I voted the same way as him doesn't make me his best mate.

If any of the Marxists had half a brain and studied the current situation they would see how UBI ultimately punishes the working poor through inflation. Unfortunately an understanding of economics doesn’t seem to be a pre-requisite to working on government economic policy these days.

Agree. The poor will pay for this. People who hold assets will benefit. It's sick.

Tim is just another in a long line of prominent Brexiteers, who pushed for a hard Brexit in their own personal interest, many of whom were able to put their wealth and assets out of the way of any potential downside.
Have no surprise at this guys latest change of tactics. It’s mere unadulterated greed and self interest.

People may notice that a large percentage of the jobs available are those that pay low wages.
When there is an indeterminate supply of cheap labour that is fine.
When said labour "tap" is turned off the employer has an option.
Make the job more appealing, pay more or suffer their business being unable to grow.
This is true. When I have employed people I have given the contracts and gone with all that. When I recently fell on hard times due to circumstances beyond my control and bad people I had to work as self employed and got royally screwed by the Plandemic. I will never work for min wage on that basis again. f**k them.

My father in law who ran a cottage hospital in Kenya was always losing nursing staff to either the UK or USA there was a real demand for qualified staff. The nurses were paid much much more than they could ever get in Kenya but in return they worked far harder than the local staff ever would and would do all the jobs that nurses in the UK wouldn’t do as they were too qualified. My experience with the NHS bore this out the doctors and nurses were all pretty useless.
Hope you are safely in Kenya at present or the "NHS are all angels" mob will be heading out to burn your house down. Some NHS staff have had a fairly awful time of Covid sweating in their PPE, some others however have done F all, one of our neighbours is a nurse in a clinic at the local hospital and didn't leave home for 4 months.
