What’s the best 30ft tractor drawn livestock trailer?

What’s the best 30ft box. We would want sheep decks as well. Having said that Anyone with experience of that size trailer?
We’ve currently a 26ft Hudson. It’s a good trailer but being one of the cheapest on the market it’s build quality is maybe not as strong as it could be.

Would that be a painted body or galvanised? Would be keen to stay with galvanise as I’m not far from the coast.
The paint is two pack which is very long life , the rest is Galvinised.

I hope you have loads of space around your yard and wide roads to turn into your fields as 30 feet trailer wont be very manoeuvrable. But to answer your question I would say a Stewart with galvanised chassis.

We've a 32ft Stewart, it seemed huge for a start, but you get used to it.

One thing to be mindful of is width of body, we've a 27ft paton, ex lorry container on another trailer and don't get many more cows on 32ft.

What ever you buy get Alloy or galvanised.

We have a Stewart 30' with slam doors and sheep decks. Alloy deck will last forever the trailer is just painted and is showing its age now.

What do you mean by best?

Value for money?

Best for operator?

Long life?

Biggest capacity ?

If you're moving a lot of sheep and cattle, I'd say you need to decent fly to roof ramp

I agree about lorry width bodies, even those vary with the types of side pressing

My vote for best goes to Plowman - a lorry operators body

If it's mainly sheep I'd talk to Dan at Gamic about a box with two 15ft lifting trays

We used to have a Lagan steel box but it was rusting through in 10 year, we have a Stewart now that is 10 years old and looks like new. Don’t bother any steel in the box, alloy only.

It would be 50:50 sheep and cattle use. An both in the same day. So having it convert from one to the other quickly would be good. Like the fly to roof.
I did enquire about a Houghton. But it’s nearly twice the money of a Hudson or JHC.
It’s not all about the price but still it’s a awful lot of money when it’s double.
I’m not keen on the bale trailer types it seems very high up for the weight side of it. I’ve known a few fall over when on bale trailers.
