Harmless critter, and not a store insect as per above.
If only one or two they will soon clear off. I did hear of a feed mill rejecting a wheat load with too many clover beetles in it which seemed a bit harsh.
I see plenty in my apples but never seen any damage I would attribute to them. I find it surprising they only feed on sap because they are pretty big bugs.
