Little 1/2 acre wood on HS2 route , keeping swampy and his mates out

I went by there on a Saturday morning about three weeks ago, just after the protesters had vacated the camp above that one, on the other side of the road . The old camp was Heras fenced round with security present and they were in the process of evicting them from the wood in the OP. There must have been easily fifty security personnel plus police .

I'm no fan of HS2, just improve the current network. Whole thing a waste of money.

But lock swampy & his mates up.

Maybe the fencing and security is there to keep Swampy and co in the wood? Seems like a good idea to me.👍

And yes, £2bn (and some) would make a far bigger difference spent on upgrading the current network I would think.

Chatting to a dozer owner/driver when I was tipping subsoil down on the A30 Honiton to Exeter when they were building it, he wasn't much of a fan of swampy as he had sugar put in his fuel tank.
Swampy is never still climbing trees is he that must be 25 year ago

Government are typically ahead of the curve, just as everyone wants to work from home, they are improving the rail network, so people can get to their business meetings a bit quicker, while everyone now meets on zoom!

There may well be reasons why my point of view is flawed, but; why not run longer trains more frequently on the existing railway?

Does anybody really need to get anywhere a few minutes quicker?
Makes more sense to have extra coaches on existing trains so that everyone has a seat, and run more of these trains per day.

Is this theory totally unviable?

But Jacob Rees Mogg, Minster for returning to Victorian Times, is telling everyone they must be back in the office. He has plans to put steam trains on HS2 and needs the extra miles of track to accomplish his grand plan.👍

Platforms not long enough and would end up walking half the way to ones destination if they were.
