What are the signs of a failing orbital unit in a tractor?

Steering wheel moving slowly round when you're driving in a straight line....or you have to keep moving it round to stay in a straight line...

I actually had a new fendt in 2008 where the steering wheel would slowly go round on the road ...they never did get it sorted....my father who was a mechanic back in the 70's maintains that the connection was too tight and wasn't a tiny bit of free play.....we don't own the tractor now.....not because of that issue
