What car/truck takes 3 child seats in back?

Basically it is best to stop at 2 kids... few really take 3 car seats safely and with ease!

Can put 2 full size seats and a booster seat in the back of a Ranger but not if you want to use the isofix points and the booster is only with a lap belt, far from ideal and probably not legal.

A Dodge Ram import? They are so wide I think they even do a 6 seater version, with 3 front, 3 back...
thats what i told my wife. Two kids means you can have cool cars. Three means you have very expensive big cool cars, Four means you buy a mini bus!

Isofix only relevant where internal harness is used up to about age 4 so unlikely to need 3 iso points. If you have 3 under 4.....good luck to you!😆
Yes, you are quite correct. Isofix is only suitable up to 18kgs which is on average a four year old. Even if they aren't all under four, the flexibility to position your ISOfix seats as you desire is pretty important middle, to the sides or two on one side so that an adult can supervise in an outer seat. Versatility is the key to happiness.

My cowman and I'm sure this applies to many people, is a grandfather and his children have several children each of their own. Grandparents often look after grandchildren and there are often many of around the same age. That's when it gets complicated and potentially very expensive. He has one lot that are twins and another brother only 18 months younger and found that their Qashqai just couldn't fit three seats in the back. Not enough width. Very frustrating when in lockdown and parents all kept on working as normal while kids needed constant supervision.

Lot of them (and single cabs) have four upfront too don't they

Transit custom is 3 up front. The middle seat is not the biggest, but my son loves sitting up front so it's perfect for him.

I have the double-cab version, 3 full seats in back. I've had 2x car seats in before with an adult in back too.

Very good compromise for seats/carry capacity (1 full euro pallet in back).

There is some kind of bench seat adapter thing available with 3 isofix points. Cant remember much details but we considered it before giving in and getting the zafira which we now love. Think it was approx £1000

There is no legal requirement to put all 3 in child seats if they can’t fit the width in the car. Having said that if your kids are young you might choose to for extra safety. A lot more width in our hilux than a normal car but not so easy to park in the school car park. Some booster seats can be slightly narrower which can help.
You can’t use booster seats anymore can you?

I meant aren’t booster seats illegal for children born after 2016

You can use booster seat/cushion until the child is 12 years old or 135cm height. My kids went into a "child seat with high back and side support" as opposed to a full chair, from about 2, as they didn't even fit in a child seat anymore!

Official law is ' Rear- or forward-facing child car seat (high-backed booster seat or booster cushion) using a seat belt, harness or safety shield' from 15kg onwards

Multimac make a special bench multi child seat that will fit across the back seat of almost any car. We had their 3 seat version in our BMW i3 that is normally only a 2 seater in the back. Great quality and very safe. Quite expensive new but they can be found second hand. (Ours is now for sale).
Our other car is a Volvo XC90 which we’ve had for 10 years and takes the whole family + 5 bikes (including a tandem!) with ease.
The older it gets, the more I appreciate just how good the Volvo is.

3 kids here. I have an Amarok, I looked around all pick ups and it had the most space in the back, and the car seats fit closer to the doors leaving more room for the middle man. Wifey has a Volvo XC70, it’s brilliant, gets some hammer and there is loads of room in back.
