What car/truck takes 3 child seats in back?

Big wide ones. I think the smallest practical car that would fit three seats across would be a Honda CR-V. I know for sure that it is impossible in a Qashqai. The VW Touareg or Q7 would be ideal. Depend not only on physical suitability but on what you fancy and your purchase and running cost budget as well.
Most pickups would be wide enough but most don't have the essential three ISOfix safety seat mountings. You'll need to do your own homework because apart from anything else it is a personal compromise between you and your partner, who will permeably have to struggle securing three children in the back more often than yourself.

For a car, the Ford S max or the Volkswagen touran. The S max has 3 individual seats in the back with iso fix. You can move the rear seats individual back and forward to “stagger” them to give you more room to strap the little darlings in.

Or Vauxhall zafira tourer for half the price of those 2

There is no legal requirement to put all 3 in child seats if they can’t fit the width in the car. Having said that if your kids are young you might choose to for extra safety. A lot more width in our hilux than a normal car but not so easy to park in the school car park. Some booster seats can be slightly narrower which can help.

Basically it is best to stop at 2 kids... few really take 3 car seats safely and with ease!

Can put 2 full size seats and a booster seat in the back of a Ranger but not if you want to use the isofix points and the booster is only with a lap belt, far from ideal and probably not legal.

A Dodge Ram import? They are so wide I think they even do a 6 seater version, with 3 front, 3 back...

A few replies mention three seatbelts, but what you actually need is three ISOfix proper child seat mounting points. Even if they have these, it doesn't necessarily follow that three seats will actually fit side by side in the available room. In some cars it just means that the two outers can be used OR the centre one. It also depends on the width of the seats of course.

Have those seats got ISOFIX child anchors or top tether points on the back of the seats? Either is essential but for ease of use and ultimate safety I would insist on ISOfix points where the seats just plug in.
Think so, crew vans are now geared up for families
Also look at Merc Viano or VW Caravelle/Shuttle
Popular with growing families

Isofix only relevant where internal harness is used up to about age 4 so unlikely to need 3 iso points. If you have 3 under 4.....good luck to you!😆
