Had our tipper truck nicked today at 07.30. Dad saw the barsteward but couldn't get there in time.
Now fully expect further visits to collect other bits that were eyed up. Has anyone used the really sound sirens type alarm near horses? Keen to hear how it affects livestock if alarm is triggered when they are housed close by

As normal routine, we desensitise young ponies with piped music in the stable. I reckon if they can tolerate Radio 1 24 hours a day, they'll be desensitised to most noises!:)

If anyone is looking to protect any form of asset whether it is machinery or livestock then I can put you in touch with a company I highly recommend. Their asset recovery rate is 99% if an item is stolen but they are masters of preventing items being stolen in the first place. They provide systems for lots of well known blue chip companies and the government and are now in the Agricultural space with lots of new products to assist in reducing the rural crime rate.
I am also able to offer reduced insurance rates from insurers who recognise their equipment. Each farm is unique and will require a different solution due to location, number of entrances, exits and of course buildings and assets etc.

Typical costs would be of interest.

Hi Manhill - I will message you with the contact details of the company and then they can discuss this with you as it depends on what you are thinking of protecting but it is not £1000s put it that way.
I really hope that people wake up and see how totally ineffective CESAR tags are and look to seek alternatives that actually work!

Cesar tags are useless as soon as they are within a metal box. Be that the back of a van or lorry and then a container. The chances of recovery being less than 10%.
Tags using RF are not limited in that way making continuous tracking possible with a network of aerials in place.
The company that I work with manufacture solutions using RF technology and work with police forces uk wide who are trained with their scanners. Recovery rate is 99%!!
I cannot name certain large companies due to non disclosure agreements but can say that a large bank is rolling out their technology and so is one of the supermarkets.
This means large areas of the UK will be covered by the aerial network. Task ahead is to infill some rural pockets. But most main roads and ports are covered.
