Hey guys. What tractor do you use to spread fertilizer with?
I have a Kuhn Axis 40.2 and looking for a tractor to run it. Im looking at the jcb fastracs but they come with quite a few complications importing them to South Africa. Warranty doesnt cross the border, it will be the 2nd or 3rd 4000 series in South Africa so really limited support on these tractors.
Have to spread about 100-180ha a week. There is a bit of driving to be done between fields as we have farms that are about 12km from the shed. All on semi maintained gravel roads.
What would you recommend on ride comfort, handling the weight, handling the travel and hectares.
What my thoughts are:
Best possible suspension front axle and cab
CVT gearbox since we have a lot of pivots so there is constant slowing down and speeding up between the pivot ruts
Being able to pickup and handle the weight
Tractors with good backup around us:
John Deere
Landini
Case IH
New Holland
Valtra and Fendt are in South Africa but not with a lot of branches yet
Any input and remarks are welcome.
