I heard they bought up/developed a trials/research arm of the business. I think this role is looking after it; identifying research ideas and communicating the results to the business/the wider world

As they mention “clients”, I think you are correct, the plot thickens.
In all seriousness it would be good for Uk agriculture if they were doing large scale, “in house trials with zero till” on the soils they farm , as just one research idea they may be pursuing, what do you think@Clive.

bit like an agronomist, but rather than advising on chemicals, i think they provide advice on everything else cropping related, technology, new approaches ect.

There’s certainly a lot of bulking-out words on that website 😂 clearly evolved from my worst nightmare-a workshop; but one with no tools in it. Fair play to them but why don’t they just say in the ‘about’ section; a membership based ag research organisation. Adas do something v similar don’t they?

I read it as its for the person who will be trying to make sure that Dyson Farms get as big a slice of the ELMS (and general green w_@_nkery carbon offsetting etc) pie as humanly possible......
Net worth 16.3 billion March 2021. I wonder if his £60/ha soil management SFI options will even register. Having said that, it amounts to over 800k on 35000ac so will give a few people some employment filling out the forms 👍

Err, isn’t that what agronomists do ?
That’s what they do here anyway . . .

I'm not smart enough to understand the advert :sorry: Mrs Pom however, says it sounds like a good job with a business that's keen to push forward with new tech and science. Need to be good at tech transfer and talking to people of all levels. No point doing research if no one knows how to use it within the business.

It's an "if you employ me, I could do this and that for you and make you 'x' more millions" job. 'X' being the deciding factor whether you get the job or not. It will go to he who can promise the biggest 'x'. And what is 'x'? It doesn't really matter so long as it is bigger than anyone else's.

Green Crop Information is basically just a private applied R&D business supplying information and technical advice to its clients, eg, Dyson Formula Farming or similar. I would guess it's very similar to Kingshay if you are a progressive dairy farmer.
