What does working order mean?

Bought a sprayer, which duly arrived with no nozzles. It was in bought as in working order. How do you spray with no nozzles? Seller says there was no nozzles in the photos, I didn't notice.

Seller may say it had none in photos but at some stage of its life it did have. Which means it's incomplete, which means it won't do what it is made to.

Not in working order then.

Depends if it was e bay the photo’s form part of the description if they are not there your not getting them

No it does not !!

ebay can have as a many terms and conditions as it likes, that does not change the interpretation of UK law.

Terms and conditions are one thing, UK law is another.

A magistrate would make a decision based on his interpretation of what the words ' working order ' would imply.

Why would they have taken the nozzels of? Not like they can sell them as ther second hand. And a full set of nozzels will work into a noticable bill especially if its a 24m boom

Exactly, how much was the sprayer? How much are a set of nozzles?

I'd take my favourite set of nozzles out of my sprayer if I sold it. I'm sad I know.

I'd leave in other 2 sets

I know a few more details about this (I've had no involvement thought)
Firstly it's a very big independent dealership that often gets a mention on here and don't think there's ever a bad word.
it's a very tidy looking mid priced machine. Not in the first flushes of youth but not bargain basement either.
how do they know it's working order if it's not got nozzles?
Did they put a set in to test it then remove them? Doubt it.
just seems to me like it's gone over the water and out of mind. Doesn't sound like the rep has made any effort to put it right either

Would a ageing secondhand sprayer not be needing any existing nozzles replacing soon anyway? Unlikely to be a set on there without a good bit of age/wear anyway. Those that have posted only leaving one set in triple bodies wouldn’t be removing the oldest/cheapest either I suspect.

But yes, I’d expect a set in there, even if they hadn’t much life left in them.

I wouldnt worry about the nozzles if I had caps, the caps are like no other iv ever seen so will most likely need nozzle bodies as well which works into a fair bit

Sharp practice? Name and shame if you don't get satisfactory resolution. Being from the same side of the pond I'd appreciate knowing who to avoid. Wouldn't want a second deal with a firm like that near home nevermind at a distance. Integrity in my view is worth more than a set of used but serviceable nozzles.
