Last autumn I was drilling and Sub discimg with a Class Axion 840 and it was pretty light on the front, this spring using exactly the same implements I was using an Axion 810 which was far better balanced, both without front weights. The only difference is that the 810 is on 700's whilst the 840 stands higher on 650's. Both tractors are physically the same size but the front end sits so much more planted on the lower model.

Or, you can build your own to whatever weight and spec you want.

I currently have one under construction and it’s looking good , it will be forsale so anyone thinking about buying a large box with removable weight and side tool boxes you can have lights paint any colour etc if you deposit .

For balancing such things as a mounted drill, I’d sooner have a front press on to eliminate a bit of compaction from the front wheels while the drill is in work.
Or go back to a drill that’s trailed.
........which is okay in the dry.
We tend to use trailed drills in the dry and mounted tine drills in the wet, when nothing else will go.

On Friday I passed a lad with forward facing strobes on the mudguards, weight block and top of the cab, broad daylight and he had nothing on the back of the tractor! It was actually more difficult to see passed him

On my Agriweld box above there are only the chevron stickers, no lights
I was more meaning the actual weight but yeah the crap that's added on will weigh in as well .

I know of 1 place local that has 1 plough that's used on 2 different tractors the lighter one runs 500kgs on the front linkage the heavier one has 1000 + .

It's comical the weights folk run for no reason I can run a 6f 1m clearance auto reset kv with 500 kgs on the front of a 200hp JD the fastrac is unreal for balance 3.6 ton of fert plus the spreader with 500 kgs on the front and it never even offers to lift then you see the next man with 1500kgs on :scratchhead:

All you need is roading and steep land steering security plus in demanding traction conditions around 40% of the unit's total weight on the front, while pulling hard. If traction is not a problem then steering safety is the only important parameter. It doesn't need to be super-well planted, because as mentioned when lifting equipment in the field at the headlands, you have tools such as independent brakes that are provided for assistance.

I would rather put a set of front tyres on and grease the axle daily than destroy the braking system in a modern tractor

Link box would do same job with a lot less weight.

I was told that I needed a ton weight as that's what the dealer sold. 800 kg we have and it rarely used.
Valtras we have had are really well balanced.
Weight is only needed for ploughing, buckraking and topping steep
Chap that helps us bought a link box. Its handy. Can get 4 bags in spreader with this tractor.

If you're destroying the brakes using an independent to assist the headland turn, you're needing to find a job that doesn't involve operating a tractor, or anything else that requires a modicum of mechanical sympathy 😝
