What gets rid of Docks?

Had a walk around my hay earlier today, mowing Tuesday…?

last year there were no docks in it at all, suddenly, this year, loads!!

What can I spray to kill them when they start to regrow after a cut of hay? Problem is, I only want to kill the docks, not the clover etc etc…

Find some dock beetles is the best answer, they will eat right down the roots leaving holes!

Unfortunately not before the dock plants have produced and shedded 80 years worth of seeds...

I think Squire Ultra is about the only ‘clover safe’ herbicide now, but not sure how effective it would be against strong docks.

Weedwiper perhaps? Anything will either kill the clover, or they will grow back after grazing.

Are there too many to spot spray? We're almost dock free thanks to Grazon and a knapsack.

As above spot spray if it’s not a whole blanket over the field if it is be cheaper reseed a bit of Clover after

Spot spray - get a rechargeable knapsack, it makes the job almost a pleasure!

Had some decent success with gal gone, adjuvant and plenty water this year. Docks are well gone, clover is ok and the grass isn't half dead like with some stronger herbicides.

Wouldn't be surprised to see them back next year

We have ended up rouging nearly 100 acres before cutting to limit spread and will Spot spray with sprayer and prevail ( docstar) when the time is right

They’ll be back soon enough. 2-4D is only much use against seedlings ime, or for giving a headache to buttercups, nettles & docks.

I would never use 2,4D or MCPA alone on docks and expect it to sort them. Fold them up a bit maybe. But will be back with vengeance later.

Thrust would be better as it contains dicamba and they really don't like that.
