Just to be different, looks a lot like crested dogs tail which has done well this year in our pp because not shaded by prg and festulolium which usually smother it. Crested dogs tail appears just like a stalk with no leaves which tend to grow low to the ground, common in lowland mixed species pp.

PRG is a weed in a field of barley.
It does actually look quite nice from afar swaying in the wind, makes it look like you’ve got a great crop growing......til you get up close ?crested dogs tail. quite pretty really. Timing is also right for it to be heading. Definitely not sweet vernal grass or meadow foxtail.
