What grass is this?

It’s all over the place here,doesn’t appear to have any leaf,just stalks, it’s untidy and I reckon it must be annoying for the ewes grazing amongst it.

Just to be different, looks a lot like crested dogs tail which has done well this year in our pp because not shaded by prg and festulolium which usually smother it. Crested dogs tail appears just like a stalk with no leaves which tend to grow low to the ground, common in lowland mixed species pp.

Yes, you might be right. We need better photographs.

Yep I’d be inclined to agree with crested dogs tail. Fields have been extensively grazed for 40 years+, need to get going on a bit of a reseeding program, but held back for 5 years with wader grazing contracts
