Lit at small fire. The honey just chars to soot. Managed to get my head past the hearth and itā€™s fairly clean. Wisps of smoke leaking out into the attic though. So itā€™s a definite cap off, brick up with air brick job until such time as somebody does a proper renovation though I doubt theyā€™ll ever resurrect open hearth fires nice as they are. Anyway itā€™s had a good smoking so hopefully that will keep the bugs out.

Please remember Rod Hull.
No worries. I remember Rod. I had use of an access platform fully Lolered. Iā€™ve a terrible head for heights and took me three goes to get to full height. Feels like you are on the end of a thirty foot long brush shaft
Iā€™m struggling to find a more permanent cap thsts insect proof. I think my only option is to tie wrap mesh over the pot before fitting a cap. The top edge of one of the pots is slightly wavy, not flat and I need a gap for ventilation anyway.

Openreach - they should be coming to raise wires in a field, no way of contacting contractors to tell them about livestock in the field, health and safety issues and the like. Going through the chatbot - the only option - provides an email address. When sending a message to the email address, I get a reply saying that it is an internal address and cannot help.

Padlock the gate and leave your contact number.
Trailcam in the tree opposite and then charge them with breaking and entering.
