A silly woman who owns 1000 dogs posting a huge selection of action pics of her dogs on Facebook running round one of our fields, this has just proven who is the irresponsible owners of the dogs that are currently sh#tting all over the next hay crop and most probably who’s dogs attacked my sheep last year.

People that just won't see sense.

Customer: 'The headstock isn't straight - it must be damaged. I have had in on a perfectly level floor with a spirit level up against it and it is not vertical.'

Me: Don't worry - it's a drum mower. It's supposed to be canted off to one side, so it leans in to work when it's in the mowing position. As you're looking at the headstock, it will be leaning to the left at the top, yes?

Customer: 'Yes, it is leaning to the left. I'm not convinced, though, it doesn't look right to me. I think it's bent'

Me: They are all like that. If you're not sure, google drum mowers and take a look. You'll see that they're all the same - it's the required geometry. In addition, you can tell by looking at each of the welded joints - they're specifically cut on an angle.

Customer: 'I'm not happy. I'll take another look at the machine and get back to you.'

This was the second call. What can I do with that? I never dismiss a customer's complaint as that's poor customer service. Short of driving two hours each way with a brand-new example to demonstrate the canted angle with, what can I do?

This is, of course, a rhetorical question - this is literally my job and I'll calmly talk him through it until he's settled down. Perhaps even send him a photograph of a new machine / spirit level combination, to demonstrate the geometry. I'm just venting my frustration

Blimmin' civilians and their retirement paddocks!:ROFLMAO:

Trying to get a sparky out to look at a wiring problem with no power in the older part of the house (we've been using extension leads from another phase for nearly two weeks now ). Several appointments have come and gone, I mistakenly said it wasn't that urgent, which in Shropshire means not this year...:(:(

Very true. I screwed up my order, so asked if they could change it. Computer says no, have to raise and pay for a new order and cancel the previous one. So basically I had to pay £200 twice, and wait for the original £200 to be refunded in 7 business days :banghead:
To be fair, that sounds normal.

It much easier, from an accounting point, of view to run up two invoices and one credit note rather than alter one invoice.

Yeah that's fair enough, it was my mistake and I'm just having a bit of a vent. Just surprised that in the age of online banking and instant payments I can't just get a refund straight up.
If you paid by card, it takes a 4+ days to show up on the bank statement. A day in the PDQ (card machine) until it's cashed up (usually just before midnight), a day in the PDQ company's bank, in to the vendor's bank to clear (shown in 'Next working day's transactions') then finally in to the account, on the statement.

The vendor needs to wait until the payment shows before issuing a refund - it would look pretty weird on the statement if the money went out before it [visibly] came in :)

Leaky eyes! I am not a big crier in the obvious way, I don't cry over arguments, going through tough times etc and in general am fairly strong and pragmatic. I like to think I am realistic and what have you but the older I am getting the more I feel moved by things and it is silly things that move me. Can hardly watch a telly programme without having a a few tears leak out. It's really annoying! I have turned into a  wuss :bigtears::scratchhead::LOL: FFS watching a bit of Britains Got Talent and am greeting like a big wean! Why? I have no idea!

I deliberately did not mention the wedding as expected the non Royalists to poke jibes, but I have to admit to shedding a few tears, especially when I saw the composure of the bride walking down the aisle alone and the the absolute love in her eyes when she looked at her man. I have turned into the biggest sop ever!

Well, the poor old sod has lived his life in the fantasy world of the arts, telly, films and the like. You can hardly expect him to have any grasp of reality:confused:

If fudgin' badgers were constantly destroying the royalties, he no doubt gets, from the films, etc he's been in he might have a more realistic attitude:mad:
