Scottish Power

We built some houses last year when putting meters in rang Scottish Power (August) to install gas and electric meters no problem date booked something like 4-6 weeks wait fair enough. Got to the date nobody turned up. Rang them back up gave an apology but we'd have to wait another 4-6 week.. told them cancel everything ok they said sorry about that. rang Eon yep will install them no standing charge bla bla bla be a few weeks, ok. Eon sent fitter installed 6 gas and electric beginning of October.

First house sold Jan this year. Woman moves in who is electric and gas with tell her Eon... Rings Eon nope not with us... Rings Scottish Power nope not with us... So she asks if she's getting it for free...

Eventually sorted the gas out... but as they were reconditioned meters they had a number already on and the fitter recorded the wrong number so original bill was for 1689 units instead of 102.. More ringing..

Now Scottish Power have just sent us a bill for electric use/standing charge from August-January so new owner must finally have got it sorted...

The meter wasn't even installed till October and they didn't even install it so after 30mins on the phone I've got to email the serial number but I'll also attach a picture of the meter which has property of eon written on it and installation card which gives the date of installation! Person on phone wouldn't have it that they didn't install it.

The other houses sold not had a problem just this one for some reason despite Scottish Power being told to cancel it and them saying ok no problem it shows up to eon as being registered with Scottish Power but because it was installed by Eon they've no details that match the meter/ record of them supplying it... How that works I don't know

Luckily I just have to do the emailing and dad gets to sit on the phone listening to whatever they're playing on repeat and then explain the same thing to five different people before you get to someone who seems to understand and they then tell you to email it through to x email address.
Feel for you we are going through calls and screw ups with BT well BT Openreach during numerous phone call to them it has cut out yet they say there isn't a problem. Finally sent someone out that said it was like 1 of 2 short pieces of cable but couldn't do anything as the pole was missing an inspection plate and was over 10 years old so they'd have to get the cherry picker which due to traffic hadn't been able to get to its scheduled job and being late in the day would be the next day wait in the next day they don't turn up no notice they weren't coming. Came the next day said they fixed it and that it was a loose wire at the top of the pole but didn't test it beyond picking the phone up. Found later that day it was worse than ever contacted them said they would come back the next day didn't, booked to come the following week didn't three more times was then told that their automated systems had canceled it overnight but not once told us finally after discussing it with openreach that they had found an external fault and that they would be out tonight but they surprise surprise they didn't.

Ahhh... BT. Unfortunately BT don't do communication.

I had to speak to 30 (yes, 30) different people to get my fault fixed - and that was only after I started counting.
It was a switch at the exchange which they hadn't switched on.

The time prior I was told there wasn't a problem after we both basically had to shout to each other to hear each other

Bt insisted there was no problem, even though the phone and BB only worked for about 5 mins at 0400, the exact time they sent down the test signal! No problem now though, bt gone and only phone is my mobile. BB comes via a 3 dongle, which is 1/4 of bt`s price!

Inaccessible areas on combine harvesters where chaff collects but cannot be cleaned out except by a snake holding a miniature portable vacuum cleaner in its mouth, such as under the front of the grain tank on my JD1085. Designed to catch fire and be inextinguishable IMO. Engine fan blows chaff into these inaccessible areas as it isn't properly ducted to blow chaff clean across the engine bay and out the other end due to numerous steps and obstacles.

Engine bay top access slightly too small to allow lift of rad straight up. WTF? Another inch and a half and it would be clean up and out but no that would be too easy so have to squeeze it out the side panel on its side with all the extra work and possibly for damage that it involves.

Why do machinery designers take no account whatsoever of maintenance requirements? Ok it might not have such sexy lines but at least it would be maintainable without a major strip down or having to be a contortionist.

Awkward neighbours...
His cattle were grazing our 2nd cut last year and he wouldn't do anything about it so we put up an electric fence to keep them out. Early this year he puts sheep in those fields without fixing the fence that wouldn't keep cattle in. After plenty of arguments and him telling us that it's our fault that his cattle pushed the fence down we finally get rid of the sheep. Once the land is dry enough we remove the old fence and do all the necessary preparations to put up new fences at our expense and get threatened with court....

Really laughing at some of these replies but everything annoys me. Everything.

I'm the most short fused, irritable impatient grumpy arsed unsociable person in the world. Love equally unsociable short-fused grumpy sods too we're on the same level and just nod and say hello and nothing else unless it's to bitch about whatever is really hacking us off that particular day.

Dog poo bags hanging from trees and fences like some weird Christmas decoration.

People that for some reason cannot close gates. I have no idea what causes the problem or why they can't manage that last little nudge just to pull gates closed but it drives me insane.

People that cannot read signs and notices on said gates. You could hang a 10ft sign saying loose rhino are in the field and have a bit of a headache so best left alone and some idiot would still get settled with a nice picnic right in the middle of the field letting all the rhino charge out through the gate they left wide open.

Cows that appear in fields suddenly and without warning. I'm scared of cows.

People.

Everything.
