Buying stuff from Amazon. They used to show delivery date alongside the item you were perusing, now you click to buy to find your water pump hose is coming from China via the Gobi desert by camel train and will take five weeks, meanwhile the free delivery you thought you were getting has disappeared as the goods cost £19.50 and "free delivery" only applies for £20 or more.

Had the same gripe with the postage earlier this year.

Found from the Martin Lewis website there are Add Ons - small, cheap items you buy to make the purchase to £20.

Am miffed that delivery dates don't show until the checkout, too.

iPhone alarm.
Why is it so easy to turn on an alarm but nearly impossible to turn one off?

Have you spoken to the boss yet
:D I turned up in his yard a couple of days later, just as the star of the show was filling up with some red and you should have seen his jaw drop when he saw me... :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, I was - understandably - pis*ed off and when I had explained the situation to T - the boss - he called the lad over, asked me to repeat myself and then asked him if it was an accurate account; to his credit the lad said it was. T then gave him three options: f*ck off and don't come back; do two day's of unpaid overtime for me; see what the police might think of it. Einstein chose number two, so my cutting ground up the road is getting its next hedge cutting done gratis.

I am still very angry about it although I have calmed down a bit now :angelic:; but the lad has done the right thing and none of us have entirely spotless careers. He has said he'll never wear a hood or earphones while driving again . Interestingly, T knew about the matter already because the chap who stopped to see if we were alright - and who I don't know - is a friend of his father. T didn't know it was me, but guessed someone might turn up - it is a very small world...

Still get that 'sinking stomach' feeling when I think about how close it was to being a bad accident. :(

Hopefully taught the lad a valuable life lesson glad you followed it up,

"2001 No. 561
ROAD TRAFFIC
The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks)
Regulations 2001

................

8.—(1) This regulation applies to works trucks, road rollers and agricultural machines.
(2) A registration plate must be fixed on the vehicle in a vertical position or, where that is
not possible, in a position as close to the vertical as is reasonably practicable—
(a) on both sides of the vehicles, so that the characters of the mark are easily
distinguishable from both sides of the vehicle, or
(b) on the rear of the vehicle, so that the characters of the mark are easily distinguishable
from behind the vehicle, or
(c) where the vehicle is towing a trailer or trailers and the plate is not fixed on the sides
of the vehicle,
on the trailer or the rearmost trailer (as the case may be) so that the
characters of the mark are easily distinguishable from behind the trailer."

Taking the above to its ultimate conclusion would require tractor manufacturers (for the UK market)
to install two brackets, one on each side of the tractor hanging down from the cab roof where the side mounted number plates could be attached (No wiring for lighting required) - This would eliminate the need for the rear number plate bracket and its associated wiring and ALL other number plate and number plate lighting related issues relating to Ag. Tractors, trailers and implements particularly when using man & tractor sub-contractors to pull a range of different trailers and implements.

Simples.......Maybe a bonnet mounted side plate in the case of a hedgecutter tractor .
